Xhaka wins an award

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been voted Arsenal’s Player of the Month for April.

The Swiss midfielder won a voted list on Arsenal.com and narrowly beat Mohamed Elneny for the award. Xhaka has been in fine form over the past few games, starting with the win over Chelsea and continuing with a goal in the convincing 3-1 win over Manchester United last week.

Xhaka said, “I want to thank you very much for voting me player of the month.”

The youngsters will play against West Ham?

The Gunners will be without two key players when they face West Ham United on Sunday.

Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney have been ruled out for the remainder of the season and will be greatly missed. Their absence not only leaves problems in the starting XI, but also a problem when it comes to finding players to replace them on the bench. But manager Mikel Arteta may have a solution in the academy system.

The Spaniard had no problem promoting from within and with no additions to come in the January transfer window, had to bring in Arsenal youngsters to fill in the matchday squads.

Nunez transfer fees

Arsenal will be looking for a new striker when the summer transfer window opens.

Senior forwards Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette will be out of contract at the end of the season next month and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was allowed to leave the club in January and join Barcelona. The Gunners have been linked with a host of players, including Man City’s Gabriel Jesus and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez.

And transfer guru Fabrizo Romano has told the club how much it will cost to bring the latter to the Emirates Stadium.
