Arsenal and Barcelona are both considering moves for Raheem Sterling, according to reports.

The England international faces an uncertain future at Manchester City despite open ended talks with Pep Guardiola.

Sterling and his manager have reportedly agreed to disagree on some issues after the forward’s return from Euro 2020, when he was named to the UEFA tournament squad.

The former Liverpool man found himself in and out of the squad towards the end of last season, and that continued into his early term.

With Sterling now in the final year and a half of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, the next few months could determine his future.

If playing time continues to be difficult to find, the 26-year-old could be inclined to seek new pasture.

City won’t want to lose him for nothing in 2023, so a move next summer cannot be ruled out.

According to the Catalan point of sale Eleven, Barcelona have named Sterling as an alternative to main target Dani Olmo.

The Blaugrana want to sign the Spaniard from RB Leipzig, but Sterling could be a more viable option given his contractual situation.

Barcelona will also face competition from Olmo, who is also attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United.

They will also not have a free run at Sterling, with the Daily Star reporting that Arsenal is monitoring the situation.

The Gunners are already making a shortlist for next summer and Sterling is high on it.

Mikel Arteta worked with Sterling when he was Guardiola’s assistant at the Etihad.

And the Spaniard is hoping to capitalize on his existing relationship with the winger by luring him to Arsenal.

North Londoners could have an advantage over Barcelona to meet Sterling’s salary demands given the financial turmoil the La Liga giants are plunged into.
