Speaking on the UMM YouTube channelAymeric Laporte has praised Liverpool’s reported target Pedri.

The Spanish midfielder is Laporte’s teammate at international level, and the Manchester City man has claimed he is one of the best young players he has ever seen.

Pedri is a player Liverpool have looked up to over the past 12 months, they had talks about signing him around a year ago, and the links have been ongoing since then as Liverpool have kept tabs on his progress.

However, with the midfielder signing a new contract in October, a summer move seems unlikely, but it’s clear the Reds are admirers of the talent.

What have they said of Pedri?

Laporte is full of praise for the Barcelona star.

“Yeah, I think he’s one of the best, I’d say that’s true. There’s a lot of young players playing amazing right now, but I’d say he’s one of the best. between them, 100%,” Laporte said.

Star of the present and the future

Whether or not Pedri will eventually come to the Premier League remains to be seen, but as Laporte says, he’s an incredibly talented young player.

There’s a reason he was a Barcelona and Spain regular at just 18, Pedri is a mercurial talent with an attitude that could take him to the top.

Pedri is the type of player who likes to take the game by the scruff of the neck, and he has the skills to outsmart and outplay any midfielder.

Liverpool have their eye on this youngster, and he could be a perfect replacement for Thiago Alcantara in the years to come.
