Barcelona president Joan Laporta has opened up on the club’s current manager Xavi Hernandez.
Xavi regained control of Barcelona on the 6thand November 2021. The former midfielder took over with the club in disarray and even struggling to break into the top four in La Liga.
However, after a solid January window which saw all Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres and Adama Traore brought in, Barcelona look from a much better side.
Their latest outing would see them crush four Napoli as they booked their place in the Europa League round of 16.
Now, ahead of their next game, Laporta has highlighted how Xavi has helped change the mentality of the players:
“I want to highlight the good work that Xavi and all his staff are doing. The change in mentality of the players and the new signings have given us a huge boost. I think we are progressing well.

Barcelona v Athletic Bilbao
Barcelona are now ready to face Athletic Bilboa on Sunday night.
The Blaugrana head for weekend action seated 4and in La Liga. And while they’re tied on 5and place Atletico Madrid, Barca have a game in progress.
Athletic Bilboa, however, won’t be a breeze as they are 8and in the Spanish top flight at the moment and have a very strong defensive record.
They have conceded just 21 out of 25 league appearances this season, with only Real Madrid and Sevilla better at the back.
