Elsewhere, new Tottenham boss Antonio Conte wants his new team to play ‘attractive football’:

“Being the manager of Tottenham is a great pleasure, a great honor. Now for sure I want to repay that trust, ”Conte said.

“My coaching philosophy is very simple, to play good football and attractive football to our fans with passion. To have a stable team, not from top to bottom.

“The fans deserve to have a competitive team with a willingness to fight. I will do anything to earn their support.

He added: “There was a call from Tottenham this summer but I was very clear. I had just finished with Inter Milan, two important and very difficult seasons.

“Honestly, it wasn’t a good time to start another experiment. I prefer to wait and enjoy time with my family. Also because I think, emotionally, that I was still with the last experience with Inter.

“Tottenham are an important club in England and around the world. The stadium and the training ground are magnificent. The club and Daniel Levy wanted me very much. It’s a good opportunity, an honor to accept and become the manager.

“I saw the training ground and I want to start working. These situations push you and increase the desire to do something important for the fans.
