Former Grand Slam champion Boris Becker has been under investigation for five years, but all will be well over the next few weeks with the 54-year-old German going on trial from Monday (MARCH 21) in London.
Becker is accused of failing to hand over the trophies of his distinguished career to settle his debts, a court already heard in a preliminary hearing with more than 24 charges against him, including the withdrawal of hundreds of thousands of pounds on the accounts of his daughter and his ex-wife.
This is all about the former world number one who declared himself bankrupt in 2017 and was accused of concealing not just the trophies but several properties and around £1.7million at the time.
“I am happy that the process is finally starting and that the court is rendering a judgment. The last five years have been damn long, the hardest of my life,” he previously said during the trial.
He denies seven counts of concealing property, two counts of removing property required by the receiver, five counts of failing to disclose details of his estate and one count of concealing debts.
In addition, he denies nine other counts of non-disclosure of trophies, which were in his custody or control, and which he was required by law to hand over, with the trial expected to last three weeks.
