The Spanish singer, 53, is said to be under strict surveillance after entering the intensive care unit at Manchester Royal Hospital.

It comes just days after Il Divo announced that they had postponed their UK tour dates until 2022 due to “illness”, although the group have not disclosed any further details to the time.

According to the Spanish publication El Espanol, Carlos was intubated after entering the hospital, and although his organs are stable, he remains in serious condition.

Carlos’ latest Instagram post was shared on December 6, when he appeared in a promotional image alongside his band mates David Miller, Sebastien Izambard, Urs Bühler to reveal two upcoming tour dates in Dallas and Florida. and in February 2022.

The publication also reports that Carlos was admitted to hospital two days later, on December 8.

On December 10, the group took to their Twitter to reveal that the remaining dates for their UK tour in 2021 had been postponed.

They said: “Unfortunately, due to illness, the remaining dates for Il Divo’s UK tour in December 2021 have been postponed to December 2022.

“Il Divo is deeply sorry for his fans, but looks forward to getting back on the road in the New Year and seeing you all as Christmas approaches.”

Il Divo was also due to present two festive European shows, one in Lisbon and another in La Coruña, and the latter show was recently postponed until July 15, 2022.
