Chelsea are still in the early stages of the process and haven’t spoken to Barca yet, but it’s quite surprising to see the Blues potentially making a move for Aubameyang since we haven’t heard any rumors from a reliable source about it.
It’s interesting to see if the two clubs will possibly discuss some sort of swap deal involving Chelsea’s two Barca targets in César Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso. Chelsea are also reportedly keen on Frenkie De Jong, so we could see the first stages of a mega-deal between the two sides.
Aubameyang remains happy at Barça but his role will be considerably reduced with the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, and he could be tempted to join his former coach Thomas Tuchel if he promises himself more minutes in London.
It really came out of nowhere, but it’s now a very interesting story to watch.
