There is no denying that Brendan Rodgers had great success during his tenure as manager of Celtic. The club have played some of their best football under his leadership and it was during his time at Parkhead that they were turned into a treble machine.
Arguably things have deteriorated since he left the club to join Leicester City. And while his accomplishments with Celtic have been incredible, many fans don’t fondly remember him due to the fact that he left to join the Foxes in the middle of the season.
It must be said that he has done very well at Leicester City since he became their manager. He guided them to an FA Cup and a Community Shield victory, and they competed for a top-four spot in the Premier League until the very end in the previous two seasons, although they didn’t ultimately failed to cross the line. And now Rodgers is linked with one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
As reported by 90min, Rodgers remains on FC Barcelona’s radar as a potential replacement for Ronald Koeman.
Former Celtic coach is linked with FC Barcelona
It’s safe to say that Rodgers’ run to Celtic didn’t end the way most fans would have expected or liked. He would be remembered a lot more if he left at the end of a campaign rather than in the middle.
But in the end, there is no doubt that the Hoops have been brilliant under his leadership. And he also proved his qualities at Leicester City.
As a result, it should come as no surprise that he was linked with a move to a club like FC Barcelona and if he did end up getting the Camp Nou job one day, he would likely do very well there too. .
