Just now: Barcelona and Inter Milan reach an agreement for the loan of Jordi Alba

In a shocking development, Barcelona and Inter Milan have reportedly reached a full deal for veteran defender Jordi Alba’s loan deal. Gerard Romero.

The 33-year-old is one of the most experienced players at Camp Nou and is considered a legend by fans after his ten years of service. However, the left-back has fallen behind youngster Alejandro Balde in the pecking order this season.

His performance against Rayo Vallecano on Matchday 1 failed to impress manager Xavi Hernandez, who has since opted to start with Balde in the next two league games.

And with Barcelona closing in on capturing Marcos Alonso from Chelsea, it was reported earlier this week that the manager would be ready to offload Alba in that scenario.

And it seems that the Blaugrana have decided to go ahead and sanction an exit for Alba before the summer transfer deadline.

According to Romero’s report, Barcelona have already agreed with Inter Milan on a loan deal for the Spain international. Under the terms of the deal, the Catalan giants would pay 60% of his salary, with the Serie A heavyweights covering the rest.

What is now pending is the green light from the player to complete the transfer. It will come as a huge shock, given Alba’s position as a permanent fixture in Barcelona’s line-up over the past decade.

But, as things stand, the veteran defender could be on the move on transfer deadline day, opening the door to the Blaugrana to sign Alonso and potentially even Bernardo Silva.
