Dimitar Kuzmanov won his first crown on the ATP Challenger Tour by winning the ⬠44,820 Emilio Sanchez Academy clay court event organized by the Fundación Emilio Sánchez Vicario and held in El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona, ââSpain.
The unranked Bulgarian upset the tournament’s No.1 Hugo gaston of France 6-3, 6-0 in the Sunday singles final. I’m really happy to have succeeded today after having had a tough battle against a tough opponent. I am very emotional and cannot find the right word to describe how I feel.
Kuzmanov, winner of 20 trophies on the ITF Pro circuit and currently ranked 218th in the world, has won ⬠6,190 in prizes as well as 80 ATP ranking points.
