Leeds United have rejected a last-minute attempt to sign star man Rodrigo Moreno on transfer deadline day – Barcelona apparently being the club that were denied the Spaniard’s signing.
Rodrigo signed for £ 26million last summer when Leeds returned to the Premier League after 16 years in the English top flight.
And after impressing the audience on Elland Road with seven goals in 26 Premier League games, Los Blancos were hoping he would do even better this season and enter double digits in another attack.
With Daniel James and Raphinha at his side behind Patrick Bamford, it is possible that the West Yorkshire outfit will become a real strength this season.
But it couldn’t have been more if Barcelona had succeeded with an offer for the Brazil-born Spain international.

According to the Athletic, Ronald Koeman’s men made a loan offer for Rodrigo in the dying embers of the transfer window – something Marcelo Bielsa was never going to agree to.
Leeds were always unlikely to be ready for their record signing, especially moments before the deadline closed.
And Bielsa made sure of that, with the manager apparently extremely attached to Rodrigo’s keep procedure.
“I have a lot of confidence in Rodrigo’s qualities,” Bielsa said in week two of the season.
DO NOT MISS
But Rodrigo’s position in Spain was enough for them to show interest.
The forward has scored 59 goals in 220 games for Valencia as he solidified his place as an extremely versatile player.
Leeds will look for their first win of the season against Newcastle on Friday night.
