Lincoln High School is planning an educational European tour for the summer of 2024.
Students will discover Paris, Provence and Barcelona, Spain during a 10-day trip according to Jason Bell, Spanish teacher at Lincoln.
The trip is open to all currently enrolled students in grades 9-12.
Bell and Ms. Mandy Long will accompany the trip coordinated with EF Tours, the district’s educational travel partner.
In previous years, Bell has taken groups of students to Costa Rica (2019 and 2022) and Bell wanted to provide this opportunity to more members of the school community.
“I contacted Ms. Long and we worked on an itinerary that will include some of the best experiences both countries have to offer,” says Bell.
Students will be able to see the Eiffel Tower and the Sagrada Familia, the beaches of Barcelona and the hills of Provence, as well as the Mona Lisa and the Picasso Museum.
“Lincoln High School hasn’t offered a trip to Europe since the 90s, so we’re very excited to give students the chance to experience something new,” says Bell.
Bell adds that the more he travels with students, the more he realizes that it’s less about the geographic destination and more about the personal growth that students experience in a new environment.
“International travel provides students with new perspectives, helps them develop critical thinking skills, and form lifelong friendships while fostering independence in a controlled environment.”
If you are interested in this unique opportunity, an online information meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m.. You must register to attend the meeting. You can RSVP to https://rsvp.eftours.com/2tw26j4.
