This is what Goal correspondent at Arsenal Charles Watts has to say about today’s North London derby: “It’s a huge game for Arsenal.
âAfter such a gruesome start to the season, they have quietly started to repair some of the damage with back-to-back wins over Norwich and Burnley. But what happens here today will really determine how the start of the season is viewed.
âWin by two or more goals and they’ll be above Tottenham, just five points off the top of the table having previously played against both Chelsea and Manchester City. It would be a win with the potential to really revive things for Mikel Arteta.
âLosing, however, and the momentum that has built up over the past fifteen weeks will completely vanish and it will be another time of crisis in the UAE.
“There is so much to do for Arteta, especially now that he has chosen to bring Granit Xhaka straight to the side after his suspension. The Switzerland international owes his manager and team-mates after his stupid Manchester City expulsion in the month last. Arteta backed him up by pulling him straight to the side despite many fans wanting him out. Now is the time for Xhaka to repay that faith. “
