Just four days from the end of the January transfer window, FC Barcelona is trying hard to secure last-minute deals down the line.
Adama Traore could be on his way back to Barcelona, according to journalist Gérard Romero. The Spain international left Barca to join Aston Villa in 2015 for €10m and seven years later could be on his way back.
Probable return to La Liga for Adama Traoré
The player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is moving behind the scenes to agree a loan deal until the end of the season, with a possible purchase option also included in the deal for the 26-year-old. Barcelona will pay the player’s full salary until the end of the season. Tottenham were in advanced talks with Wolves over signing the winger, but that deal failed to materialize and Traore kept his options open when the possibility of a return to Barcelona emerged.
Romero also reported that Barcelona are close to signing Thomas Meunier on loan from Borussia Dortmund. The Belgian could be part of a swap deal which would involve right-back Sergiño Dest moving in the opposite direction. Meunier and Borussia Dortmund would both be open to transfer before the end of the window.

Will Dembele stay?
Talks resumed this week over the Barcelona player’s future Ousmane Dembele. Dembélé’s agent Moussa Sissoko met with Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez earlier this week in a bid to resolve the situation with the player. Barca are trying to find a solution for the France international before January 31.
Barcelona’s position hasn’t changed. If the winger does not renew this week, before the deadline, they will look for a way for him to leave Barca before January 31. Xavi also reportedly said that if Dembélé fails to refresh, he will no longer wear the Barcelona shirt. The Blaugrana’s aim is to reduce the current wage bill at Camp Nou in order to sign new players, but with just four days until the transfer window, the pressure is mounting in the Camp Nou offices.
